Stefan Piesik was born in 1961 in Kassel, where he spent his entire time at school and at the Albert Schweitzer School (ASS) 1980 his exam. The ASS is also his rowing root and home. Here he met his sport and he won a lot of races, including several DRV (German Rowing Federation) examination regattas and 2 tracks on „Youth trains for the Olympics“ in Berlin in the 2x.
In 1980 Stefan Piesik became member of National Team and won the Gold Medal in the DRV double sculls at the „Match of the Seniors“ in Piediluco / Italy.
At the beginning of his studies in 1982 at the German Sport University in Cologne, he joined the belt area where he was 2 years in „Germany eights“, so with varying success.
After ending his international career he followed the completion of his sports with studies in 1986 and the direct access to the coaching career.
His first stop was the Ludwigshafen RV where he succeeded with Volker Nolte together for a rapid development: As the chief coach of Rheinland-Pfalz (German Province) he developed a structure for education and high performance rowing structures supported by his colleagues Peter Berger and Diethelm Maxrath.
Dissolved by Unfairness Doping and the Performance System in Germany, Stefan Piesik began to collect his experience as a sports teacher in the teaching profession.
A severe ankle injury in 2010 stopped this career; also his personal desire to work again in rowing, contributed to this. Last stop before his renewed independence, was that of a full-time coach at the MRC, a Club in Mannheim without any ambition.
His successful studies in rowing and in a lot of other sports in general qualified him as well as his talent to impart knowledge and to teach lessons ad to a lecturer and a course leader in this committee.
Education / Science (Teaching), which he now belongs already over 25 years , Stefan Piesik initiated 15 years the coach-A and -B training of DRV‘ s, 23 years as head of the DRV boat waiting period and regularly paid lined country training courses and in the Dipl. Coach Education operates and in recent years has been at the international level coach Education operates. During this time, he has published numerous publications to his areas of expertise: Biomechanics / rowing technique, training teaching / performance diagnostics and of course the trimming / Setting rowing boats.
In 2002 he was (re: Equipment / Technology Commission) in the FISA Materials Committee appointed, he belongs to the present and thereby regularly at international championships comes as a technical inspector for use.
Beginning in 2014 Stefan Piesik is a lecturer at the Ruprecht-Karls-University of Heidelberg.
Stefan Piesik is married to the former world-class rower Andrea Klapheck since August 2009 and the proud father of his daughter Clara.
